Films: The Oblong Box (1969)
Alias: Sir Edward and Julian Markham
Type: Mystical
Location: Civilized Area
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: So this is what Edgar Allen Poe believes is the definition of "brotherly love". Typical of him, really. Either way, here's a duo cursed by voodoo magic for varying reasons.
History: Sir Edward Markham hasn't had the best of days. During a disastrous visit to an African village, his brother Julian accidentally (his words. This IS Vincent Price we're talking about) murdered a boy there, and the chief thought Edward did it. For that, the poor man's face went heavily disfigured. Enraged at his predicament, Edward has a witch doctor help him fake his death so that he can rise from the grave and terrorize Julian's associates, concealing himself under a red hood.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: Edward and Julian confront each other, and it ends with the former getting shot. However, Edward bites Julian before dying, passing the disfigurement curse along. The witch doctor, feeling cheated out of his good will, brings Edward to life again, but this time with no way of getting out of the coffin.
Powers/Abilities: One posessed with the curse can pass it along by bite.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 3.5-While Julian is just a sociopath with good manners, Edward is a bit more unhinged. Wearing an imposing red hood helps, and no one wants to be in the same room with a masked murderer, no?
Trivia: -The original script called for both twins to be played by Vincent Price. Due to some unexpected deaths of the people in charge, this was changed.
-Due to the film's themes of the evils of African exploitation, the film was banned by numbskulls from Texas.
